AN OPEN DOOR

Jesus said to the church at Philadelphia, "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name." (Rev. 3:8 NKJV).
Is the Spirit saying that to Haywood Baptist churches in this season? A few of our churches are healthy, some are plateaued, many are declining. Yet, there is hope for all!
You do not have to be large in number to have a sizable impact. Philadephia had "a little strength." The key is to be faithful to the Word of God and courageous in standing for Jesus. Are you?
If so, He will open a door of opportunity and we must then walk through it by faith and obedience. The beginning of such a movement could be this coming Tuesday. We are gathering at 7 PM in the Stuart Auditorium of Lake Junaluska to reflect on where we have been, repent of our sin, and seek God for revival. There is an open door if we will open our heart to God's stirring and open our mouth with Gospel truth.
PLEASE PRAY. Invite someone to come with you--especially young adults. Since the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk, a door has opened to reach young adults. In great numbers, Generation Z (age 13-28), as it is called, are buying their first Bibles and going to church for the first time--the testimonies of how that is impacting them give reason for hope that a revival is coming.
Probably the last significant revival was the Jesus Movement in the early '70s. Hippies (and others) came to Christ--barefoot, wearing bell-bottoms and with long hair. I had a "ONE WAY: JESUS" patch on the back pocket of my bell-bottom jeans. Such an unlikely group--yet, God saved us and summoned us to ministry.
God DO IT AGAIN!
Yours for Generation Z and More,
Dennis Thurman, AMS
