Goodbye and Hello!

Writer's picture: Haywood Baptist AssociationHaywood Baptist Association

If you have not heard, Jason Miller, Pastor of Dutch Cove, has resigned his position. So, the congregation he has faithfully served for 12 years is understandably sad to see him go. Goodbyes are never easy. We certainly will miss his contribution to Associational work and participation in our Pastor's Conference.

But, it is only a "sort of" goodbye that also leads to hello. He will not serve as pastor of Dutch Cove anymore, but will remain in the area with his family where they will continue to be members at Dutch Cove.

Beyond that, Jason will transition in ministry to work with the NC Baptist Convention as a Missions Catalyst for Regions 9 and 10 (Haywood Association is in Region 9). So, "Hello" Jason to your new role with us--and the other associations and churches you will assist!

We have been privileged to have a Haywood County influence on NC Baptist Life for several years now. Jason was elected Second Vice-President and First-Vice President--then briefly filling the role of President, when President Quintell Hill resigned to serve with the International Mission Board.

Pray for Jason in this new responsibility, and for his family as they adjust to these changes also. Pray for Dutch Cove as they begin their search for a new shepherd to lead that flock.

Yours in Reaching Our World,

Dennis Thurman AMS
