A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH

Nations exist in time...they are born and they die. There is judgment in eternity for individuals, but nations are judged on earth as they do not exist when time is no more.

This Friday, we plan to observe another birthday of the United States of America. But, how many more? There is a time when God's patience is ended and the sands of the hour glass of wrath run out.

Can a spiritual awakening come? Of course, and we pray for it! Yet, if we do not speedily repent and return to God, then I cannot believe that America will see many more birthdays. The flood that rose in Noah's day and the fire that fell on Sodom's inhabitants are graphic reminders of what Jesus warned about the judgment to come.

We have been so blessed, and yet we shake our fist in the face of our Benefactor and blaspheme His holy name. Last week a "Pride" event celebrated perversion in Waynesville. Those lost souls need Jesus. We all do!

Our sin-sickness is nearing a terminal state. We must seek the Lord NOW! It's a matter of life and death.
