ALL THE MONEY YOU NEED TO DO ALL GOD WANTS YOU TO DO

I have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news--you have in your church family all the money you need to do all that God wants you to do! Now, the bad news--it is still mostly in the members' pockets!
There is not a lack of resources. Our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills--absolutely everything belongs to Him! Where His finger points, His hand provides. We must prayerfully find His direction, in order to know His provision. There will not be enough money to do all the deacons propose to do, or what the preacher wishes you would do, or what the finance team hopes to do--but there is full funding available when we commit to doing God's work in God's way!
One of the essentials is to do the right thing in the right way! That takes vision, organization, promotion, and accountability. People will commit themselves to a compelling vision where it is clear, "This is what we want to do and why we want to do it!" Then, there needs to be an efficient organization that channels those funds to fulfill the vision. People then see and comprehend the means by which their money reaches their intended goal in giving. We promote giving based on the Biblical teaching, and our passion for the Kingdom work. There also must be accountabity for every penny put in the plate.
Good intentions are not enough. We need good actions, and that is dependent on good information. So, we have Davis Blount of the NC Baptist State Convention coming to do a "Lunch and Learn" on Monday, September 8 from 10 -1. This is for Pastors and those who are key in guiding the finances of the church. We will feed you lunch at noon. But, we need to know how many to prepare for in order to be good stewards of our resources.
He will discuss a range of topics concerning a pastor's compensation and benefits, tax and retirement issues, church budgeting and stewardship promotion--and answer your questions. We want this to be immensely practical.
