BACK TO BETHEL

Old Jacob--like many of us--had some ups and downs. There were times he was at a stairway that reached to heaven, and there were moments when he behaved like one on a highway to hell. But, God persistently dealt with his child, even though the Lord had to chasten him--even cripple him. The call when he wandered was to go back to Bethel, (cf. Gen. 35). It was a time of spiritual renewal.

Don't we need that? The days we live in just drain us. We get weary in well-doing. We wander away step by step. The good news is that we--and our churches (hopefully this nation)--can come back to Bethel, which means, "The House of God."

With this in mind, I want to invite you and the churches of Haywood Baptist Association to come back to Bethel. On Sunday evening, June 29 you are urged to come to Bethel Baptist Church at 6 PM for a worship service. Mark Tice, Pastor of East Fork will bring us God's Word. We will have a choir directed by Bethel's Music Minister, Tim Stiles. If you would like to participate in that choir, then come for rehearsal at 5:30, prior to the service.

It will be a wonderful time of worship--maybe more. I am praying for a move of God to begin in Haywood County and to start with me! It could be when we travel to Bethel!

Yours In Seeking God Together,

Dennis Thurman, Mission Strategist
