FALL IS COMING AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!

Leaves falling? Sweater weather? Well, yes—but, that is not what I am talking about.

IT’S TIME FOR THE FALL MEETING OF THE HAYWOOD BAPTIST ASSOCIATION!

We had hoped to have this as a dedication service for our Mission Center—renovations done and to have it up and functioning—but, no. Local government bureaucracy has ground us to a halt as we wait for a fire alarm system that must be installed before we continue. Bummer! Yet, God is sovereign and He has a reason for permitting the delay, even though we may not know what that is. I have found that God does not ask for my advice.

We are thankful that Riverside Baptist Church has graciously offered to host the meeting. It will take place On Tuesday, October 13, at 7 PM with a light meal preceding that we will start serving at 6. There are officers to elect, reports to be shared, a budget to be presented, and worship to be offered. Mark Golden, the new pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will bring us a Word from God.

Remember the requirements for voting as messengers:

1. Each Board Member shall be a member of the cooperating church of which

he/she is representing.

2. Each church shall be entitled to three (3) Board Members, which shall include

the senior pastor and two additional Board Members.

3. Each church shall notify the Association, upon appointment and/or changes, of

the names and addresses of their Board Members a minimum of two weeks before

the next occurring quarterly meeting.

4. Board Members from churches who have failed to contribute financially to the

support of this Association, over a period of one (1) year, may participate in

meeting discussions but will be censured from vote.

A church in friendly cooperation with the Association is in agreement with our statement of faith—the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, gives to the Associational budget, and sends messengers to the meeting.
