NOT GOOD TO BE ALONE

We are created for relationships—with God and with those made in His likeness. The Creator’s plain statement from the beginning—even in a perfect world—was, “It is not good that man should be alone,” (Gen. 2:18a). How much more do we sense that need for companionship in the sin-darkened, strife-producing world under the curse! I need you all! I hope you know that you need the other churches of Haywood Baptist life.

Two enriching fellowship times are coming this weekend.

On Saturday, May 30, the Association is providing breakfast for our bi-vocational pastors. It starts at 9 AM and should be over by 10:30. We will gather in the Youth Assembly room at Woodland Baptist Church. Just come in the main doors down the hallway, as you follow the signs. There is no agenda except yours. I need to hear from you. I cannot pray effectively for you, if I do not know your dreams for the congregation you serve and your challenges in ministry. Please let me support you and encourage you! This is a time for us to underscore how valuable you are to Kingdom progress. Call or text me at 828-243-2540 if you can come so I can have enough food ready. I plan to reach out to you as well.

Then, Sunday evening, the 31st, we will have a joint worship service. Dellwood Baptist Church is hosting it. If you would like to be part of a joint choir, come to practice at 5PM. Shawn Porter will be leading the music. Then, I have been asked to speak at the 6PM service. It will be a sweet time to be together, honoring our Lord and encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ.

I look forward to seeing you!

With Excitement,

Dennis Thurman, Mission Strategist
