The word "gospel" begins with "GO!" Go across the street, the county, the state, the nation, and the oceans--until every nation has the occasion to hear of salvation. The month of August is going to be a time to get ready and get set so that come September, we can go!
Write down these dates and plan to attend:
Thursday, August 5, 6:30 PM at the Haywood Baptist Association Conference Room: Canton Labor Day Festival Brainstorming and Planning (see previous post for more details). We need a pastor and/or representative from each church that wants to help with this wonderful opportunity.
Tuesday, August 10, 7 PM at HBA: Quarterly Meeting (complete with mission updates).
Monday, August 16, 10 AM, Pastors' Conference will relocate to the Buncombe Baptist Resource Center to hear our new NC Convention Executive Director Treasurer, Todd Unzicker, about mission and ministry opportunities (and other matters) in our state. Free lunch is provided if you make a reservation. Call HBA and we will make the reservation. We may also carpool, for those who would like.
Thursday, August 22, 6:30 PM at HBA, Evangelism Training using the 3 Circles and Evangecube.
We only need to fill one shift at the Mountain State Fair now. It will be the 10 PM to Midnight shift on opening night, Friday, September 10. We need six volunteers to serve snacks and drinks, clean tables, and look for opportunities to pray with and share the Gospel with Fair Workers. Please let us know ASAP if you can and we will order you a ticket for $5.
