"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." (2 Cor. 9:8 NKJV)
The grace of which Paul was speaking is the grace of giving. The Lord promises to supply all I need to live and to share with others in need. As He fed Israel with manna each morning, He gave them what they needed for that day. They could not hoard it, or it became a stinking, maggot-infested mess, except on the day before the Sabbath, Israel could gather a double portion so as to rest on the seventh day. That manna was preserved.
Similarly, God gives us what we need when we need it. Recently, our budget for Haywood Baptist Association has been dwindling--more month than money. I get it. We are supported by our churches and some of those churches are seeing diminished giving. Budgets are tight.
Yet, God is faithful! One of our churches sent a $10,000 check today! That should just about cover our deficit so far this year. Ain't God good!
You may not be able to give a $10,000 check, though some might could give more. We are grateful for all gifts, large and small. We could not do what we do without you, for our churches are the association!
To be a church in good standing with this association we require:
1) Agreement with the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/)
2) Submission of the Annual Church Profile https://ncbaptist.org/ministries/information-technology-services/annual-church-profile/
3) Financial support of the Association during the course of the year.
Please put on your calendar the Spring Meeting on April 14, 7PM, at Allen's Creek Baptist Church. The Pastor and two additional members can participate in the business of the Association. All are welcome to attend, of course. Steve Frazier, Pastor of Riverside will be bringing the message. It should be a great time!
Yours for the Mission,
Dennis Thurman, Mission Strategist
