I enjoy our Pastor's Conference. It is an encouraging time for me--being fed in the Word and feeding around the table in fellowship afterward. It commences at 10 AM on Mondays. By the way, you don't have to be the Senior Pastor--if you are a pastor on staff, you are welcome to come. Here are the upcoming plans.
September 19: Terry Davis of Walk through the Bible will share a great opportunity to deepen your congregation in understanding Scripture.
September 26: Meeting at BROYHILL CHILDREN'S HOME. We will tour this ministry, and they will feed us lunch. It would be most helpful in their preparations if we could give them a head count. Let us know.
October 3: The Sufficiency of Scripture Conference at FRUITLAND BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE. Please note that the meeting begins at 1:30 PM and concludes at 8 with dinner provided. You can meet us there, or we can plan to leave from the HBA office at noon. We will either carpool or take a bus/van. Registration is requested! Details concerning the conference are available online.
October 24: ChristSong Ministries. Bobby and Nan McGee will share with us in music and testimony about how God is using them to reach some of the most hardened prisoners in America.
November 7: NO PASTORS' CONFERENCE; Baptist State Convention in Winston-Salem, Koury Convention Center.
November 14: Allen Schulyer of the Baptist Foundation will be with us to discuss estate planning so our family is cared for when the inevitable comes (unless Jesus returns for us first).
FYI: In December, my wife and I are discussing a Ministers/Wives Christmas Dinner. Details to come!
Your Brother,
Dennis Thurman, AMS
