REVIVAL OR RUIN?

It has been a week since Charlie Kirk was brutally murdered. Was it an assassination for his political views or martyrdom for his faith? Perhaps both. What we do know is that it has further polarized those whose worldviews are inevitably irreconcilable. There are those who hold to objective truth—the reality resting on God’s revelation—fixed and unwavering, then there are those who cling to subjectivism and secularism—continually evolving according to the current whims of man.

The good news is that a younger generation is recognizing the emptiness of what this world offers. They are searching for meaning—for something to fill the hole in their soul. It is a God-shaped vacuum only He can fill. There were already scenes of masses gathering on college campuses to hear the Gospel. Charlie Kirk’s appeal (and the antagonism from others) is an indicator of a potential spiritual awakening. Now, young adults are increasingly seeking answers from Biblical churches. GenZ (ages 13-28) are now the most numerous age group attending church!

It is an opportunity. The door may not remain open long. One thing I believe is certain. There can be revival where we see God hit the pause button in the inexorable march to judgment—a door open for a season in which the final harvest can be gathered before the end comes—or this will be a spark quickly snuffed out by God-haters and instead of revival we will see ruin.

“That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments; And may not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not set its heart aright, And whose spirit was not faithful to God.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭78‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
